Montessori Teaching and Philosophy
The teachers of Rosehill Montessori School bring to
the classroom an unparalleled expertise provided by extensive specialized
training in the methods of Montessori education. Each Directress is
a skilled observer who uses her training to provide children with
the guidance, assistance, challenges and encouragement necessary to
facilitate individual development. In addition, our Directresses utilize
their technique to recognize and promote creativity, spontaneity and
initiative.
The Montessori philosophy itself was founded upon standards
of excellence set forth by Dr. Maria Montessori. The classrooms and
curriculum of each school affiliated with the American Montessori
Society must meet Montessori's standards since its founding
in 1975. As a parent-run, not-for-profit Montessori school, Rosehill
has remained dedicated to education, not economics. Rosehills
curriculum is extensive, covering every aspect of the Montessori Classroom,
as well as history, all cultures and current events. Our experienced
teachers strive for a freshly developed and interesting curriculum
to meet the needs of our children.
Further explanations about the principles of the Montessori
teaching method and its philosophy can be found in the About
Rosehill Montessori section of the web site or in Rosehill's
Parent
Handbook.
