Overview of Rosehill’s Purpose and History

Rosehill’s Purpose

Rosehill Montessori School was established to provide quality educational experiences for children. Our philosophy is to preserve and nurture the innate intellectual curiosity and tremendous joy of learning with which children begin life. We are interested in a framework in which intellectual and social development go hand in hand in order to help each child learn the basic ideas, attitudes, and skills essential for success both in school and in life. Rosehill is dedicated to an educational experience that will help children develop not only a foundation for a lifetime of learning but also a love for life and mankind. We ask not what is in our best interest, but that which is in the best interest of the child.

Our extraordinary, not-for-profit school allows parents to have a direct impact in their child's early learning years. Rosehill offers a fresh, continuously developing Montessori curriculum, including weekly dance and movement, music and language classes. Our friendly atmosphere allows for a comfortable learning experience while providing a loving and nurturing environment for our children.

A Brief History of Rosehill Montessori

Rosehill Montessori School was founded in 1975 as an educational alternative to the more traditional childcare or preschool environment. A group of concerned, committed parents sought to establish a Montessori school that would provide their children with the best possible early learning experience. That ideal became a reality through their dedicated efforts and continues through the commitment of many parents whose children have attended or are currently attending Rosehill. This experience has helped establish Rosehill as a Montessori School fully dedicated to those whom it was meant to serve; children.

A more detailed history of Rosehill is given in the About Rosehill — Background section of the web site or in Rosehill's Parent Handbook.
